My Latest Travels
As you will have gathered by now, I am a bit of a roamer, using my days off to travel, explore, climb and discover every nook and cranny of the British Isles. To list every place I have been too would bore the pants off of me, let alone you, but below are six of the most recent trips:Strathyre - 21st October
A cycle ride from Kilmahog to Strathyre, back to Callander and then to the Car. After that comparatively short ride, I headed east, dodging showers, to wander round Clackmannan and taka a look at its old tower house on the hill.Inveruglas - 19th October
A walk along the three lochs way from Inveruglas to Arrochar then through Glen Tarbet and back to Arrochar to retrace my steps. A nice walk, shame about the waymarkers.Beinn na Caillich - 11th October
There is a long range of hills on the north side of Loch Leven, hills which I had never climbed. Today, therefore, I drove across to Callert and climbed Mam na Gualainn and Beinn na Caillich, before returning through the Lairig Mor and over the pass to Callert once more.Campbeltown - 9th October
I had to go to Tarbert (south of Lochgilphead) for a meeting, and as that was finished by half one I decided to take advantage and go all the way down to the Mull of Kintyre. It was a little windy in Campbeltown, and hurricane force at the Mull!Inverness - 1st October
A very wet forecast, and a need to go shopping (having failed whilst in Leeds) sent me north to Inverness. After a wander around the shops, I decided to come home the long way, in some very heavy rain.Loch Treig Munros - 30th September
Almost a year after I climbed the Chno Dearg to the east of Loch Treig in thick mist, I climbed the two Munros to the west of Loch Treig, in thick mist...For previous exploits, click Here!
